I look at this and I think, wow that’s a nice sculpture in a park! It spins, it’s pretty but is it a Big Thing? I’m sure when they were erecting it as part of the WW2 memorial; they weren’t think touristy ‘Big Thing’ either. On a side note, ‘Shropshire’ was the name of a famous World War 2 Australia ship and hence how the park got its name. The globe becomes a visual aid for the written material at the park explaining all the battles that took place for those interested.
It’s with great hesitation though that I officially remove the Big Globe from the Big Things of Oz, officially Big list!
